Beetroot Chips Recipe | Vegetable Chips Recipe | How to make beetroot chips at home | Healthy Recipe
Beetroot chips (also referred to as vegetable chips) are chips or crisps that is prepared using beetroot (also known as beets). This vegetable chips may be shallow fried, deep fried, dried or baked.
Many different root vegetables or leafy vegetables may be used. These chips may be eaten as a snack food, and may accompany other foods such as dips, or be used as a topping on dishes.
Beetroot chips (or crisps) are thin slices of beetroot that have been deep fried or baked until crunchy. They are commonly served as an evening snack,or side dish or as appetizers.
The chips are fried and later sprinkled with salt and chilly powder, or you may also give it any flavour of your choice.
These chips or crisps are always loved by all, be it kids or adults. Baked chips are more healthier than deep fried ones. And this will definitely be a healthy snack for all of us,esp kids.
Step by Step method to prepare Beetroot Chips at Home:
- Take a medium-sized beetroot. Cut the two ends. Peel off the skin using a peeler or knife, whichever is comfortable for you. Wash it once before making slices.
- Make thin slices using a slicer or knife. Make sure it is thin. If the slices are thick then you will not get crispy chips.
- Heat oil in a pan to deep fry the beetroot slices. Make sure the oil is hot before dropping the slices. Do NOT add too many slices at once, it will reduce the temperature of oil and will not make the chips crispy.
- Stir occasionally to avoid burning. Remove from the oil once all the bubbles settle down completely.
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt and chilly powder for some added flavour.
- Enjoy the crispy snack on a rainy evening!!!!
